Open source technology sounds like something made for the benefit of people. And a common misconception that follows it is that it is free. Although many open source software platforms are free for the usage of people some are not. One requires a source code in order to edit content. This source code can be freely available to the public whereas the program is sold separately. You will need to buy the program in order to use it and edit it. So, open source technology though useful, is not entirely free of cost.
